With the long (and sometimes hot!!) days of summer over, Burnsall returns to being a sleepy backwater. 'The Lion In Winter' is a delight, roaring log fires, crisp frosty days for long walks, warming dishes on the menu - in short, total relaxation.
We offer a good selection of two to five night mid week breaks from the beginning of October until Good Friday. Christmas and New Year are magical times here - very often sunny and dry with just a sprinkling of snow on top of the fell. We have a very traditional family Christmas, plenty of festive fare - mulled wine and mince pies when you arrive back from walking off your hearty meals are set in front of you, music and carols, Midnight Mass which is always celebrated at our ancient Church of St Wilfreds. We see in the new year in good fashion too, plenty of fine food and wine - and lots of fun!!
